We shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary.
About our group and team
Te Mahau | Te Tai Runga is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support, education advice, regulation and network functions for schools and early learning services. We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals.
About this role
The primary focus of this role will be supporting our Kāhui Ako (Communities of Learning) and other collaborative initiatives in our region. The Lead Education Adviser is a change managerwho works in partnership with schools/kura, early learning services, iwi and other leaders across communities, to identify issues and opportunities and broker support to improve achievement through collaboration. In this role you will be committed to influencing Kāhui to build collaborative relationships and be working proactively for tamariki Māori and their whānau, hapū, iwi, to identify and eliminate barriers to achieving equitable and excellent outcomes

- A passion about leading transformative change to support improved educational outcomes for underserved ākonga and their whānau

- Build trusting relationships and work confidential and effectively with iwi, rūnanga, kura, schools, ECE's and other stakeholders
- Work with others to lead and implement change initiatives
- Understand the barriers to engagement and find solutions
