This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $83,096 to $117,312 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
As the Technical Writer, you will support the Design team in the creation, revision and rollout of standards, specifications, guidelines, and technical notes related to the design and construction of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. We are looking for someone with excellent relationship building skills who can translate complex information into engaging content for either technical or general audiences.
**You will get to**:

- help facilitate the initiation and review of draft documents through to completion
- develop documentation that is consistent with the organisational document management systems
- maintain and upgrade the technical documents that support the wider capital works programme
- add value to the creation of design documents by using best practice associated with technical writing
- proactively engage with external stakeholders at multiple stages of document delivery.

About you
**To be successful in this role you will bring**:

- a tertiary qualification focused on either environmental science, engineering, law, planning, or specific course work in technical writing
- at least two years of technical writing or editing experience
- experience writing documentation for various audiences
- the ability to bring people together and facilitate complex discussions
- excellent proofreading and editing skills
- an understanding of the obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the principles of Te Mana o te Wai.
