**Connected Communities**

Our Connected Communities group works alongside our community to enable and support our people to thrive. Building trusted relationships and strong networks, both within Council and across our city, our Connected Communities group aims to harness the collective efforts of everyone on the ground.

**About the role**

You will work collaboratively with external partners and Council teams to enable thriving and connected communities, taking a holistic approach to neighbourhoods and leading an organisational shift to community-led development. You will have a strong focus on hauora and equity. You will also lead a team that designs and oversees one aligned and co-ordinated programme of activities to support community well-being, as well as city safety and health initiatives.

**About You**

The successful applicant will possess
- Outstanding senior leadership and staff management expertise ideally within a community wellbeing arena i.e., community development, hauora, social services
- Proven experience in leading change and leading diverse teams
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, te tiriti o Waitangi and Mātauranga Māori
- Proven relationship builder and connector of people and communities including iwi and mana whenua.
- Excellent financial management skills coupled with a strong political awareness
- Well developed strategic and operational dexterity

The following is advantages though not essential
- Understanding of the machinery of local government
- Experience in designing service delivery
