**About this Role**
The **Community Facilitator - Rangatahi** will work collaboratively with community stakeholders and council teams to enable thriving and connected communities. You'll lead and support community-led development and deliver innovative programmes that reflect the voices and aspirations of our rangatahi.

Key responsibilities include:

- ** Advocacy**: Represent the interests of rangatahi within the council and in external partnerships, ensuring their needs and aspirations are integrated into council decisions and actions.
- ** Relationship management**: Build and strengthen strategic relationships with community groups, sector partners, and local leaders to inspire collaboration and collective action.
- ** Community-led activities**: Lead and support initiatives that empower rangatahi to actively participate in their communities, making use of council venues and public spaces.
- ** Implementation of Rangatahi Action Plan**: Drive the objectives outlined in the Rangatahi Engagement Draft Action Plan, fostering active citizenship and ensuring that our engagement methods evolve based on insights and data.

**About You**
This is an opportunity to shape the way local councils engage with rangatahi and deliver community outcomes. You will have:

- A strong interest in community development and an understanding of the value of community-led initiatives.
- Established relationships or connections within the rangatahi sector in Lower Hutt.
- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and think strategically.
- A talent for building extensive networks and high-value partnerships with council colleagues, community groups, and business leaders.

**Desired Experience**:

- Experience in a similar role within the public sector or community groups.
- Skills in project planning, management, and event coordination.
