**Casual Kitchen Hand**
**Purpose**We are busy feeding kids back at school, and people in emergency housing or self-isolating at home due to covid. We're on the hunt for passionate, outgoing, and confident superstars to join us at the earliest opportunity in the role of **Kitchen Hand **. **This is a role where you will truly make a difference.**
The Kitchen Hand’s role is to provide support to the production team by preparing ingredients, assembling and packing lunches, washing dishes, and completing general kitchen tasks. This role is critical to the business as you will be directly responsible for helping feed Kiwi kids and supporting our mission that no child goes hungry at school.

This role will generally be during the hours of production between 4am - 4pm (multiple shifts). This could work well for someone who needs to attend University during the day or wants to enjoy the summer in the afternoons. Ideally we are looking for someone who would be available over the Christmas period as well as into the new year and an option to stay on on a casual basis.

Casual hours (roughly 10-20 per week but could be more)

Training provided and an opportunity to develop some skills in a food production or hospitality environment

**Specific Duties**:

- Assist with preparation and making of food items for lunches.
- Follow recipes supplied and maintain a high level of quality of food at all times.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Check incoming goods as per the Food Safety Plan.
- Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Plan.
- Report any issues, H&S incidents, accidents, sickness or emergencies to Manager immediately.
- Maintain a clean working environment at all times.
- A willingness to go the extra mile and perform a range of tasks to ensure no child goes hungry at school.

**General Duties & Responsibility**:

- Be punctual and work the hours and times specified.
- Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard.
- Support and help develop a positive workplace culture.
- Demonstrate through own actions a commitment to Health and Safety at work when undertaking work or observing others in the workplace.

**Skills**:

- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand or desire to learn is a bonus
- The ability to work within a team.
- Basic food preparation experience and knowledge.
- The ability to work quickly under pressure.
- Full Drivers License is an asset
