**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Roles**

We are looking for analysts to help us with some of the biggest policy and financial challenges facing Aotearoa - New Zealand in social policy. The Welfare & Oranga Tamariki team supports three key social policy delivery agencies: Ministry of Social Development; Oranga Tamariki and Whaikaha. We lead on the economic and financial advice on these significant spending areas for the Government. You will be responsible for engaging with one or more of our social policy agencies including advising on significant policy proposals and agency performance. You will also be involved in cross-cutting areas, particularly areas relating to our economic and fiscal strategy.

We have opportunities in our team for Analysts. Depending on your skillset and experience, you will have the opportunity to lead and support a range of social policy workstreams and work on the biggest fiscal spend areas including workstreams involving financial and data analysis.

Our ideal team member will bring:

- Interested in social policy, experience in providing social policy advice including fiscal implications is highly desirable
- A critical and analytical thinker who is able to ask good questions, think through issues with analytical rigour, and see things from a range of perspectives
- Policy and/or financial analysis experience through both working automonously and within an team, ideally in a public sector environment
- An excellent communicator with a track record on writing for a range of audiences
- Experience in working collaboratively with others to develop agreed solutions and ability to influence
- Comfortable working at pace and used to dealing with ambiguity.
