**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Global Supply Chain Development and Insights sits within the end-to-end supply chain and provides strategic leadership, advice and services to develop and evolve Zespri’s Global Supply strategy in addition to leading the implementation of the activities to deliver against that strategic plan.

This position partners closely with the Global Strategy team as well as the operational teams within the Global Supply team to ensure strong alignment between the Global Supply strategy, the strategic needs, and the strategic direction of the wider business. This includes ensuring the Horizon transformation program is in sync with the overall Global Supply Strategy and the leadership of the Horizon Value Stream Leads and team, as well as developing a strategic plan to deliver a future-proofed supply chain network capable to effectively manage the volumes of fruit in the 10 year plan.

This senior leadership role will also lead Zespri’s strategic supply chain initiatives to execute our strategy including leading a team of Global Supply Chain Development leaders throughout our global network, and leading our Fruit Performance & Insights function which will work cross functionally across our Global Supply divisions to provide insights to deliver improvement and data driven decision making, both in season and with more long term decisions.

Specifically, the position includes a focus on:
**Supply Chain Development** - lead and facilitate management to develop the Global Supply Strategy and initiatives while working collaboratively with cross-functional business partners to ensure strong alignment between the Global Supply strategy, Zespri’s global/corporate strategy and other functional, regional and business strategies.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- drive the culture of continuous development through the global supply chain, including Zespri operated/controlled cool store and warehousing, distribution and other supply chain activities being operated globally.

**New Technologies** - focus on developing and implementing new technologies across the global supply chain including cool chain, physical infrastructure, and other global supply chain requirements.

**Digital Transformation Projects** - maintain a strong link with Project Horizon to ensure alignment between the project and the overall Global Supply strategy by leading the Supply Chain agenda and ensuring they are aligned to our long term goals.

**Strategy Execution** - support the COO to identify and acquire resource and investment required to deliver on the strategy including supporting management to provide input to the 5/10 year plan as well as focus on bringing a structured discipline/framework to enable clear oversight of the Global Supply strategy.

**Innovation** - lead Innovation within the Global Supply Chain function to ensure that activities are prioritised and align with the long term Global Supply strategy and Zespri Innovation strategy as well as providing leadership of these Innovation activities at management/Board level.

**Fruit Performance and Insights** - drive the strategy, vision, and delivery of our Fruit Performance and Insights team to ensure that Zespri is able to measure, monitor and proactively make informed decisions to optimise both during the current season and future season requirements in partnership with other operational teams (including NZ Supply, In-Market Supply Chain, Global Quality).

**People Leadership** - foster a positive working culture within the team and develop/maintain a high-performing and engaged Global Supply Chain Development and Insights team while ensuring behaviors are in line with Zespri values, and the safety and wellbeing of team members.
