**Te tūnga | The role**
This role is permanent and based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Reporting to the General Manager your focus is planning, reporting and accountability for delivering on the strategic priority of _Delivering for and with Iwi, Māori, and Hapū_ and ensuring these processes are integrated and in line with best practice. You will develop and embed transformative approaches, processes and models whilst maintaining the trust and confidence of our internal and external stakeholders.
This role will further embed our commitment to working with iwi-Māori under The Treaty and grow its influence and importance in Stats NZ to positively increase our engagement with iwi and Māori in the data system.

- Examples where you’ve worked with Māori, iwi, hapū and Tiriti partners and the relationships you’ve built.
- Demonstration of mātauranga Māori, fluency in te reo, understanding of tikanga and te ao Māori.
- Understanding of the machinery of government and related processes and procedures
- Experience in a similar role that included providing thought leadership and advice to improve planning, performance and implementation of strategic priorities.
- Experience developing and maintaining a continuous improvement overview of internal projects and processes.
- Your writing and presentation skills.
- How you’ve demonstrated or encouraged diversity and inclusion in or outside of work.
- Where you’ve demonstrated leadership, e.g., led by example, demonstrated problem solving, owned a project or piece of work, spoken up for yourself or others.
