**Mō te tūnga | The role**

Te Tohu Rautaki, Angitū Māori (TTRAM) are building a new Māori Partnerships and Engagement team. Bring your experience of working in this space to help create, test and implement tools to ensure Stats NZ becomes a leading organisation across government in Māori-Crown relations.

The Partnerships and Engagement Team (P&E) within TTRAM will provide intensive advice, brokering and facilitation of Partnerships between the organisation and Iwi Māori through internal and external focussed Partnership leads who will:

- Internally, provide advice/support organisation wide, develop policy and programmes to support capability to partner and work with Māori; ensure best practice for engaging with Māori on policy and initiatives; raise or escalate system blockers to improve process and practice; and support and coach teams seeking to engage with Māori; and
- Externally, develop and hold relationships with Māori; engage with Post Settlement Governance Entities (PSGEs) with existing commitments (Stage 1); raise the profile of P&E and partnership opportunities in the regions (Stage 2); identify opportunities for data partnerships with Māori (Iwi, NGOs, Trusts, Entities); and raise or escalate system blockers to improve process and practice. Everything we do is co-designed with Iwi Māori in a mana Māori space. Iwi Māori are at the centre of all our decision making: we will listen to feedback and pivot our approach when we need to and we will advocate the voice of Iwi Māori inside of Stats NZ.

- Mātauranga Māori
- Understanding/knowledge of Iwi and Māori Crown Relationships
- Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Kaupapa Māori delivery
- Ability to work and build relationships
- Te Reo me o nga tikanga
- Knowledge and Understanding of different Māori Frameworks
- Understanding and Experience in Policy, Ministerial Briefs, Cabinet papers
- Understanding of the data ecosystem across government and private sectors
