Now in our second year of operation, Non-Fungible Labs has already scaled faster than almost any other company in New Zealand history. In December 2021, less than a year after being founded, Non-Fungible Labs “FLUF World” project was named as one of the top 10 NFT projects of 2021 by CoinTelegraph, and in a recent Forbes article was put head to head against Facebook/Meta in the fight for an open and inclusive metaverse.
FLUF World exists on an underlying digital infrastructure, powered by innovative brands in the blockchain, NFT, gaming, media and sustainability spaces. Having just recently announced partnerships with the likes of Snoop Dogg and Wētā Workshop, we are entering a second phase of growth as we continue to cement our position as industry leaders in NFTs and the metaverse.
We are looking for a highly talented and experienced Environment Artist with a background in the games industry and proven experience in importing, lighting, and rendering in Unreal Engine, to join our Creative team. Reporting to the Head of Content, you will produce high-quality organic and hard surface models and texture maps in line with creative briefs and reference materials, including interpreting abstract ideas. As a member of the Creative team, you will be working from concept art, real-world references and scans, to create and lay out digital 3D environments that will form the beautiful world we are building.

**Key responsibilities**:
- Working from concept art, real-world references and scans, to create and lay out digital 3D environments that form the beautiful world we are building
- Set dressing our environments with assets
- Producing high-quality organic (e.g. shrubs) and hard surface (e.g. buildings) models and texture maps in line with creative briefs and reference materials, including interpreting abstract ideas.
- Presenting work in a turntable style environment with acceptable lighting for progress reviews and approval (including scale reference)
- Ensuring consistency of UV mapping and polygonal subdivisions
- Working closely with Producers and Art Directors to ensure their geo (and textures maps) are working as correctly and addressing mesh fixes as and when required
- Optimising the topology of assets in their scene so the environment runs at a manageable frame rate Mapping out scenery elements and props that help drive the story of the game.
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years experience in 3D modelling, creating environments for games
- Proven experience in importing, lighting, and rendering using Unreal Engine
- Experience creating high-quality organic and hard surface models and texture maps
**Bonus points for**:
- Experience creating high fidelity scenes that can run in real-time renderers
- An in-depth knowledge of our ecosystem
