**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
The Tourism Hospitality branch is the Government's advisor on all things Tourism and Hospitality. Tourism is New Zealand's second largest export earner and is a significant sector in the Government's Going for Growth plan. The Minister for Tourism and Hospitality recently launched an ambitious Tourism Growth Roadmap making this a really exciting time to join us.
The work of the policy teams is varied - from quick fire policy advice to carrying out a review of the tourism system to make it fit for the future. We use the whole spectrum of policy levers including coordinating and influencing, funding and regulatory change.
We are looking for a new Policy Manager to join us to help lead the branch's policy work programme. The Policy Manager is responsible for providing high quality advice to the Minister and is a key member of the branch leadership team. You will use your experience of leading policy discussions with Ministers and stakeholders to build and advance relationships across the tourism system and manage your team's policy work programme.
We're a high performing branch with great engagement scores. We're looking for somebody who can combine their policy nous with people-centred leadership and help us to deliver an interesting, intellectually stimulating and busy policy work programme. You'll need to know how to work collaboratively with other managers and be open to taking on challenges and opportunities thrown your way.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- **Have a people-focused and collaborative approach to leadership and work.**
- **Significant experience in leading policy work.**
- **Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with Ministers, senior officials, and internal and external stakeholders.**
- **Demonstrated political nous and pragmatism.**
- **You must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.**
