As the Development Engineer, you will join a team of professionals who are positive and excited about the growth of their region. Sound like you?

**The Challenge**:

- Provide engineering review relating to new subdivisions and other developments.
- Support the growth of a vibrant city identifying and mitigating risk and/or adverse effects on the community.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members of the public, regulatory authorities, Iwi and Hapu, developers, engineers and other stakeholders.
- Project manage and supervise Council's constructions projects to ensure design requirements are met.

**Your Skills**:

- BEng Civil or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
- Excellent multi-disciplinary civil engineering technical and/or practical knowledge.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to assist delivery of projects.
- Knowledge of relevant NZ standards, and the Resource Management Act in relation to roading, subdivisions, land use and infrastructural requirements.
- Big picture thinking with a detailed approach.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Prior experience within local government is desirable.
