**The Role**

We have a great opportunity available for an experienced legal professional to join our Corporate Services team in the position of General Counsel. You will be a member of the Corporate management team and lead our small legal team to provide high quality legal services. This includes providing independent legal advice to the Pharmac Board, the Senior Leadership Team and other staff, and commission external legal services as needed. The General Counsel also contributes to the planning, reporting, discussion and decision-making of the Corporate Services Directorate and wider organisation. The person in this role also acts as the organisation's Privacy Officer.

**About You**

You will have been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor and can hold a Practicing Certificate from the New Zealand Law Society. Experience in Intellectual Property (especially patents), commercial, employment, OIA and privacy law, and health sector experience could be an advantage.

The role has a level of autonomy and applicants will need to be self-driven to manage time-pressured work but also need to work as part of a team.
