**About the Role | Mo tenei turanga**

Pharmac is on the lookout for a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and support to Pharmac's operations. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will use your expertise to advise on
- Contracts and commercial arrangements between Pharmac and suppliers from the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors;
- Public Law and proper decision making at a Crown Entity level; and
- Corporate Governance, internal policies, and process improvement.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

- Using your knowledge, experience, and expertise to provide advice and guidance to Pharmac staff and decision makers.
- Articulating Pharmac's perspective, processes, and decisions to external audiences.
- Building networks and relationships internally and across the health sector.

**Essential**:

- Eligibility to hold a current NZ Law Society Practising Certificate
- At least 2 years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Critical thinking, legal talent, time management skills.

**Ideally**:

- Intermediate level experience in commercial law or public law.
- Experience and understanding of the NZ health sector.
- Strong relationship management skills.
