Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is to be a creative catalyst for art and ideas, offering transformational experiences that strengthen and enrich our communities.

The Gallery's vision is to be the home of art for Auckland, its people and visitors to its internationally recognised award-winning building. Established in 1888, the Gallery holds a preeminent collection of New Zealand art and a significant collection of international art, and presents a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, public engagement and outreach activities.

We are looking for dynamic and outgoing individuals to work as Gallery Assistants in our Visitor Experience team. Gallery Assistants play a key role in providing interpretation of artworks to enrich the experience of our manuhiri, and to help facilitate the preventative care/ safety of artworks and exhibitions.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You must have proven experience in delivering excellent manaakitanga and have a strong background in art. To succeed in this role, you will love sharing your enthusiasm for art with others, thrive on working as part of a team and enjoy the environment of the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.

To secure one of these highly sought-after roles you ideally:

- Have proven front line customer service experience or have relevant gallery/ museum experience.
- Have a strong interest in the arts or hold an art qualification / be studying towards an art qualification

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

We have full-time, part-time and casual positions available.

Full time roles work on a schedule of Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday.

For the permanent part-time roles, you will need to be available for work on at least 3 days per week, including either a Saturday or a Sunday.

Casual hours will vary based on your availability week to week.

**Band C ($24.09 per hour)**
