Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers. We also provide contracting services to our partners - other network owners and operators across the North Island.
- We have over 1,300 staff working together across 14 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.
- **The role**
Reporting to the Works Supervisor, as the Connections Technician you will be responsible for connecting and decommissioning customers on the Wellington Electricity distribution network. You’ll develop work plans for construction, connection and servicing of customer connections to overhead and underground distribution lines and equipment.
- Along with the day to day tasks of this role, this will see you identify potential problems and solutions responding effectively and quickly, as well as making contribution and suggestions of any improvements that will impact the performance of the business include safety systems and best workplace practices.

**Who we’re looking for**
We’re looking for a person to hit the ground running, with either a current EWRB registration (Line Mechanic or Electrician) or ready to apply, along with a clean full drivers licence.
- You will need to demonstrate the following:
- Experience with Overhead lines preferred
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- A great attitude and a willingness to be part of a team
- Experience with Vector and/or Transpower networks (desirable but not essential)
