Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers. We also provide contracting services to our partners - other network owners and operators across the North Island.
We have over 1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.

Our team in Wellington is looking for an experience Electrician or Line Mechanic to join them as a Street Light Technician.

**The role**
Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will be responsible for locating, repairing, inspecting and testing across Wellington Street Light Network. You'll also:

- Attend first and second response street light trouble calls
- Take part in afterhours roster to attend street light trouble calls
- Assist with customer connections, decommissions, disconnections, reconnection, conversions an LV faults
- Provide critical response in emergency situations e.g. electrical isolation at accident scenes, hazard management

**About you**
There will be regular travel between worksites, therefore flexibility to be available for on-call after hour faults roster is essential for this role. To be successful in this role, you’ll:

- Have minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrician or Line Mechanic
- Possess current registration, practicing licence and a clean Class 1 Drivers Licence with an ability to drive manual
- Be able to interpret GIS maps and plans
- Have passion for providing excellent customer service
- A strong work ethic and able to work within a team and independently
