**Ko t mtou mahi About the role**:
Our deliver partners are looking to recruit 100 Telecommunications Technicians for the South area of the North Island, including the regions Manawatu
- Whanganui and Wellington.

You will be responsible for daily planning, organising materials, updating records, and carrying out maintenance, jointing and installation of copper cable and / or core fibre work, including NGA residential fibre tube jointing, blowing and connections. You must be committed to actively following our Health and Safety protocols. You will perform field tasks on either Fibre or Copper networks.

As a telecommunications technician you will carry out fibre installations as well as remedial work. Required experience and skills are outlined below.

**Ko t mahi Duties**:

- Repair, adjust and replace cables, wires, routers, modems, telephones, software peripherals and other hardware
- Use of different network topology to set up and manage the network infrastructure, maintain the network to ensure efficient operations. Optimise network when necessary.
- Make sure that all machines integrated in a network are compatible.
- Programming ONT
- Install aerial and underground cables
- Digging and re-instating
- Test pcs, peripherals, network, hardware and software. Ensure all repair are working.
- Installing Aerial and underground cables
- Monitor data network, perform troubleshoot and repair and replace Fibre, CAT5 and CAT6 cables
- Ability to read telecommunication Network Framing diagrams, plans and terminologies
- Capable of using hand and power tools
- Use of technical equipment
- Perform fibre splicing on customer premises on the Optical Terminal Network
- Coordinate with other TELCO service providers to secure line installed working
- Fiber Installation on Residential/commercial property
- Fiber Splicing/blowing
- Modem/router/Wi-Fi installation and configuration & Optical terminal network configuration
- Digging and re-instating
- Other duties as required

**Na tu rourou Job requirement**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in all aspects of working with Copper and Fibre networks Networking experience
- IT troubleshooting experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or Telecommunications preferred
- Must be willing to travel in the region and work a flexible work schedule which could include after hours and Saturdays and Sundays
- An energetic personality and enthusiastic approach to work
- Heavy Lifting and working at heights
- Must be willing to work in confined spaces
- You must pass police vetting and drug checks
- Good customer service skills required
- Valid drivers license

Location:South area of the North Island, including the regions Manawatu
- Whanganui and Wellington.

Positions available: as soon as possible

Employment is permanent and is for a minimum of 30hrs a week between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday

Applicants must be able to work weekends and public holidays if required

Pay rate $28 to $30 per hour depending on experience
