Telecom Technician

We are seeking an outstanding person who has the skills and qualification to work as a Telecom Technician in Auckland. The role requires experienced, competent, and motivated individual who is prepared to carry out several duties and needs ability to work in a pressured and fast paced environment.

Overall responsibilities include installing internal telecommunications and data cabling, equipment and peripherals.
- Examining drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed.
- Plan, design, and troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Copper phone lines and Fibre networks.
- Upgrading and maintaining clients current telecommunications systems.
- Document network by properly routing and labelling both equipment and cables.
- Knowlege of Category 6 and 6A Copper Systems
- Fibre optic cabling installation and splicing and testing
- Security Cabling, WIFI Installations
- Network switch and router installations
- Server room and data center installations
- Audio visual, projector and sound system cabling and installations

**Skills and Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification in Telecommunications, Diploma in IT, equivalent Bachelors degree or other similar qualification or relevant work experience
- Comply with company Standards and NZ Health and Safety Regulations at all times.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in Telecommunications network
- Good communication and Customer service skills
- Experience in networking and IT troubleshooting
- Cabling experience will be an added advantage
- Work unsupervised and physically fit
- Team player, exceptionally reliable, effective and strong workmanship
- Capable of communicating effectively with all our clients.
- Good problem and fault-finding skills
- Capable of learning new Systems & networking Technologies
- Comfortable working on Construction sites and working at heights
- No Criminal Record and must pass the police vetting and drug checks
- Must have a full drivers license and/or able to convert to full drivers license

**Salary**:

- Salary offer from $30 to $35 rate per hour depend on skill and experience
- Estimate yearly income of $56,160 plus overtime
- Minimum guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week
- Location of work is within Auckland
