When you join the Christchurch City Council you'll be getting involved first hand and working to shape the future of this city, our communities and environment. As well as working with awesome people within the organisation, you'll find many opportunities to develop and progress your career with us. Christchurch City Council, where it's possible to love what you do
The overarching purpose of a Community Funding Advisor is to coordinate and oversee the Council's contestable community funding schemes. This includes providing information, advice and guidance regarding grants and funding programmes to the community and community development partners. The role includes responsibility for maintaining and improving the processes and software that support Council's community funding schemes.
You will have experience utilising community funding, with a good knowledge of the structure and processes of not-for-profit organisations considered an advantage. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as this role will require you to liaise with stakeholders at all levels both internal and external to the organisation. You will be tasked with creating written documents and reports that will be public information so an eye for detail is essential. You will bring understanding and knowledge of diverse communities within our city and of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga and te reo.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference to the city that you live in by facilitating vital funding for groups who are doing great things for the community. However, with all of this comes the need to remain rational and impartial.
We are a small, supportive team with high standards of professionalism. Because we never know when an extra task or project will pop up we need someone with a flexible, can-do attitude, who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure the job gets done well.
