- Permanent full-time position Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)Our team of Sterile Services/Theatre Technicians work in our modern state-of-the-art Operating Theatre suite at Wairau Hospital sterilising and processing reusable instruments and equipment for the operating theatres and other hospital departments. They also assisting nursing teams with patient transportation, theatre cleaning and equipment provision.
This is a full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight. Shifts worked are rostered and rotating to cover the Operating Theatre scheduled lists and afterhours on call.
The salary for this full-time
position is within the range $52,260 to $61,823 (Steps 1 to 4) of the Allied
Public Health & Technical MECA dependent on skills, experience and relevant
qualifications.

Permanent employees have the opportunity to study towards the National Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 4), from the New Zealand Open Polytechnic; the cost of which will be met by the hospital, if not already attained.
