We have a Full Time, Permanent opportunity for an experienced Principal Analyst to join our Te Reo Māori team within the Policy Puni.

The Te Reo Māori team's focus is on policy development and advice on te reo Māori, under Te Whare o te Reo Mauriora, including supporting the key relationships that underpin this.

**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced kaimahi to join the Te Reo Māori team in a Full Time, Permanent capacity.

The Minister for Māori Development has a priority focus on promoting the use and preservation of te reo Māori within the current funding envelope, by using a range of government levers that are available and celebrating Māori culture and success. This extends to our strategic priority of Te Ao Māori and focus area of Te Whare o te Reo Mauriora & Broadcasting.

The Principal Analyst, Policy will be involved in this important mahi, including preparing and drafting policy documents to support the Policy Manager and leading tīma engagement with other departments and key stakeholders.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

We are looking for kaimahi who:

- Can confidently and proficiently lead complex pieces of work, requiring engagement with stakeholders and meet timeframes as required by the Policy Manager, General Manager and wider puni.
- Bring effective written and verbal communication skills to ensure the timely, accurate preparation of documents and delivery of policy advice.
- Are comfortable in an ao Māori environment and situations where tikanga is observed.
- Have a degree of fluency in te reo Māori.
- Understand the machinery of government, the role of the Te Reo Māori tīma and wider policy mahi.
- Bring an adaptable mindset to their mahi, resilience in the face of change, and remain calm under pressure.
