**Hours**: Minimum 32 hours per week (weekends and public holidays may be required)

**About the Role**

We are a busy Thai restaurant looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The role involves day-to-day preparation and cooking of Thai dishes, following recipes, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare ingredients including washing, cutting, slicing, portioning, and general mise-en-place.
- Cook dishes using wok, fryer, grill, steamer and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Follow established recipes and portion standards to ensure consistency of taste and presentation.
- Prepare curries, stir-fries, noodles, soups and other menu items as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Rotate and store ingredients correctly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Assist with general kitchen tasks during service.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Experience with Thai or Asian cuisine is an advantage.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of food handling and food safety requirements.
- Able to communicate in **Thai** for kitchen instructions.
- Able to communicate in **English or Chinese** for workplace safety and general communication.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

**Additional Information**
- Full-time position: minimum 32 hours per week.
- Must have the right to work in New Zealand (or be eligible for employer-assisted work visa).
