The Takeovers Panel carries out a key regulatory function in relation to a specialised area of financial markets regulation. They supervise compliance with the Takeovers Code which seeks to ensure that shareholders in New Zealand’s largest companies have a fair opportunity to participate in control-change transactions.

Under the guidance of their Senior Lawyer, General Counsel and CEO, you will enjoy first-class mentoring and supervision and career development opportunities. The Takeovers Panel care about their staff and one of their points of difference is the regular on the job training they provide.

The work requires careful legal analysis and an understanding of commercial incentives and motives. The Takeovers Panel are looking for a person that can develop into a technically excellent and commercially astute lawyer.

**Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring**
- Law degree with 0-1 years of post-admission experience.
- Ideally, you will have completed your professional studies, although this is not essential as the Takeovers Panel are willing to support the successful applicant through this process.
- Strong academics.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including high profile decision makers.
- Above all, you will be a team player who shows a high degree of integrity, initiative and enthusiasm.
