**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced environmental science team leader to join our team at Environment Canterbury. As a senior research scientist, you will lead research projects on contaminated land and waste management, developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.

About the Role

This role will provide leadership and direction for our science group, leading research and advice on contaminated land and waste management matters. You will develop and maintain fit-for-purpose work programmes and resources, actively participating in committee and community working groups. You will also manage contracts and contractors fairly under the appropriate procurement guidelines.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a Master (preferred) or Bachelor of Science degree in a contaminated land field along with five years of professional experience in contaminated land and/or waste work with a Master's degree, or ten years of professional experience in contaminated land and/or waste work with a Bachelor's degree. You will also have the ability to lead, coach, and elevate team capability, design and lead research on contaminated land issues, and establish connections and collaboration with Nga Runanga.
