Job Summary

This Senior Advisor role plays a critical part in supporting key work programmes, including the Waitangi Tribunal's Health Services and Outcomes Inquiry (Wai 2575).

You will be responsible for providing expert policy advice and guidance on key issues, such as Maori health equity and Treaty obligations.

Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with the Ministry, public sector agencies, and Crown Law to prepare evidence and respond to inquiries and legal proceedings.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and experience in tribunal inquiries, treaty settlement relationships, treaty partnerships, or a relevant field.
  • Understanding of Maori relationship dynamics, experience building and maintaining highly effective relationships with whanau, hapu, iwi and Maori communities and entities.
  • Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field or equivalent experience and significant stakeholder, iwi and Maori relations experience.
  • Ability to operate in Te Ao Maori contexts, including tikanga, kawa and te reo Maori.
