Senior Policy Analyst - Family and Community Policy at Ministry of Health, WellingtonA policy team that works on a range of complex and cross-cutting social issues with a health dimensionImportant work that makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable New ZealandersPermanent Wellington Based roleFull salary range $107,000 – $142,000 dependent on experienceKo ake mahi - What you'll doThe Family and Community policy team works on a range of complex social sector issues that include a health dimension or influence health outcomes.
Areas currently covered by the team include:child and youth healthaged care and the health of older peoplehow the health system responds to the needs of children and young people in care and youth justice settingsthe Government's response to the Royal Commission into abuse in care and faith-based institutionsfamily violence and sexual violenceother work involving connections between the health system and other areas of government policy including immigration, education, and welfare.For this role you will need to have:Tertiary qualification in a health, policy or relevant field and/or equivalent experienceAt least two years' experience in a Senior Policy Analyst position or equivalent roleThorough understanding of public policy, government processes, and structuresAnalytical mindset with the ability to ask probing questions to uncover underlying information, and apply analytical frameworksStrong relationship-building skills and experience working with stakeholdersExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Due to the nature of our work with Ministers and the wider organisation you will need to be based in Wellington for this position.Ko matou me to matou whare - What we bringUnlock your career potential at Manatu Hauora, where you'll discover a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
