A renowned international food-grade milling business is seeking a seasoned Senior Quality Officer to spearhead the development and implementation of quality and food compliance systems across the North Waikato site.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and coordinate internal audit programs and participate in external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Manage the supplier approval process, including conducting and reviewing audits to guarantee the highest standards of quality.
  3. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for team members on food safety and quality systems, emphasizing the importance of adherence to compliance standards.
  4. Maintain and update quality systems documentation, ensuring seamless integration with regulatory requirements.
  5. Liaise with various stakeholders to foster open communication and collaboration.
  6. Investigate and address customer inquiries and complaints, taking prompt corrective action as necessary.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a robust QA background, demonstrated leadership experience, and exceptional communication skills. A tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline is highly desirable.

  • Significant experience in a senior quality assurance or compliance role, preferably within the food or milling industry.
  • Proficiency in HACCP, GMP, and BRC standards, and internal auditing processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical prowess and attention to detail, with the ability to refine and improve existing protocols and procedures.
