About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a specialist forensic psychiatrist. In this role, you will contribute to developing and implementing evidence-based care pathways, engaging with Maori communities, and advancing research and education initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver specialized forensic mental health services to patients in various settings, including courts, prisons, and community-based programs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients' complex needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care.
  • Engage with Maori communities, applying te ao Maori principles and Kaupapa Maori approaches to inform your practice.

About You

We look for an experienced forensic psychiatrist who embodies our values of compassion, innovation, and inclusivity. Your qualifications include:

  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Degree in Medicine or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry or related field
  • Proven experience working in forensic mental health settings, with a focus on culturally responsive care
