We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Pathologist to join our team at Canterbury Health Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for providing expert biochemical testing and analysis services to support patient care.
**About the Role:**
The department has three Chemical Pathologists and a registrar, and we are looking for someone with expertise in biochemical testing and analysis. As a Chemical Pathologist at Canterbury Health Laboratories, you would be involved in chemical pathology test reporting, validation, and implementation of new tests, mentoring and training of biochemistry scientific staff, and clinical governance.
**Responsibilities:**
- Performing and interpreting biochemical tests to diagnose and monitor diseases;
- Validating and implementing new tests and methodologies;
- Mentoring and training biochemistry scientific staff;
- Contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives;
**Requirements:**
- Eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council (FRCPA or equivalent);
- Experience with specialist testing and lipid disorders an advantage;
- Interest in informatics and quality focus;
- New graduates or experienced practitioners welcome to apply;
