Role Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Tertiary qualification in the field of mechanical engineering or other relevant technical discipline
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in a similar industry
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques including design for manufacture and assembly
  • Good knowledge of plastic injection molded part design, machined metal and sheet metal part design, ruggedized product design, finite element structural analysis, and calculations of stresses
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to include the use of typical office automation products such as word processors and spreadsheets
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Desirable experience with lifecycle management systems (e.g., PLM), knowledge of model-based engineering, and workshop experience
