About the Role:

As an expert in security and network design, you will be a technology and domain specialist in your area. You will be responsible for designing security solutions that generally leverage and integrate closely with network elements such as LAN, WAN, and the Internet, and will include the securing of private and public Cloud and CoLo environments.

You will work closely with other Spark design and delivery teams as well as customer resources to evolve existing platforms and solutions to meet the need of the ever-changing customer landscape.

Additionally, you will evaluate and recommend network and security solutions, oversee and develop system configurations, participate in lifecycle management, and ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability are at the forefront of every design decision.

Day to day you will:

  • Provide technical design capabilities to stakeholders, solution designers, engineers, and customers.
  • Prepare and present technical design and as-built documentation to the appropriate forums.
  • Contribute to project teams for design and implementation of new systems, designing/building within the documented parameters.
  • Design, lead, and champion proactive monitoring of environments to ensure resolution of problems, incidents, and concerns, before they are service impacting.
  • Provide consulting services when required to your team and other parts of the business, to offer expert design, support, advice, and skills.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, understanding their implications and advantages to both Spark and its clients.
  • You will be comfortable having design and technology discussions across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, from C-level execs to technical SMEs.

What experience you'll bring?

  • Extensive experience in an operational and design environment gained in an ISP, Telco, or large enterprise environment.
  • Highly skilled with but not limited to Fortinet technologies such as FortiGates, FortiManager/Analyzer, FortiAuthenticator with ideally NSE7 or equivalent certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies such as switches, routers, and firewalls and ideally CCNP/CCDP or above certified.
  • A security and networking expert who is able to design and deploy solutions that include switches, routers, and next-gen ATP firewalls that integrate with WAN/SD-WAN, Internet, and private and public cloud environments.
  • Ideally, you will be proficient across VxLAN, BGP/OSPF, HA solutions, IPSec/TLS, ADCs, and SASE.
  • Experience with virtual and cloud technologies such as NSX-T would be an advantage as well as with hyperscalers such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Experience in the following other areas would help you stand out from the crowd: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5, Citrix.
  • You will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
