Job Description

This National Manager position will be responsible for building and maintaining vital working relationships across government agencies and external organisations. The successful candidate will have proven experience in leadership, stakeholder management, and developing effective strategies and plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • LEAD THE MINISTRY'S EMERGENCY RESPONSE EFFORTS: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Ministry's preparedness for emergencies.
  • MANAGE A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS: Lead a team responsible for preparing the organisation for, and leading and responding to, emergencies.
  • COLLABORATE WITH OTHER AGENCIES: Foster strong relationships with other government agencies and external organisations to ensure effective collaboration and communication.

What We're Looking For:

  • EXPERIENCE IN LEADERSHIP AT A SENIOR LEVEL: Proven ability to lead teams and make strategic decisions.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF NZ EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORKS: Familiarity with New Zealand's emergency management frameworks and systems.
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Experience in internal and external stakeholder management at all levels.
