We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our team as Director. As the ideal candidate, you will have significant experience leading a programming or related team in an art gallery or museum environment, or related experience demonstrating excellent capability in the cultural sector.
Your tertiary qualification in museum studies, art history, curatorship, or relevant qualification will be valuable in this role. You must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be proficient in grant writing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
As a thought leader in contemporary arts, you will inspire interconnected programs of exhibitions and events that foster the practices of contemporary artists and prioritize mana whenua. Your role will involve working collaboratively with iwi, Government, not-for-profits, and businesses to achieve outcomes that benefit our community.
**Responsibilities Include:**
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the gallery, including collections care, conservation, and access.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international museum standards and contractual relationships.
- Developing impactful programs and exhibiting them at the gallery.
- Leading a passionate team and fostering a positive culture within the gallery.
