Civil Defence Manager

The Hamilton City Council is looking for a skilled Civil Defence Manager to lead our emergency management efforts. In this role, you will work closely with Council, communities, and agencies to understand hazards, plan for risk, and develop preparedness against disasters.
You will be responsible for facilitating groups, developing emergency response plans, and educating communities about natural and man-made hazards. During emergencies, you will focus on delivering and adapting those plans to ensure a rapid response to unfolding needs.
Requirements- Tertiary degree or equivalent experience in emergency management.
- CDEM sector training via the Integrated Training Framework.
- Strong decision-making skills under stress.
- A positive attitude and commitment to disaster resilience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Facilitation and technology skills.
- Cultural awareness.
