Cell Biology Specialist

The University of Otago is a world-class research institution, and we are seeking an experienced researcher to join our team as an Assistant Research Fellow. This role will involve working closely with our orthopaedic surgeons and theatre staff to advance our research projects.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, with experience in mRNA and protein labelling techniques. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons and theatre staff to design and implement research projects
- Conduct experiments and analyses to advance our understanding of cell biology
- Prepare and present research findings to the team and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- Relevant experience or suitable tertiary qualification in cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline
- Experience in mRNA and protein labelling techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Benefits:
- This part-time (0.4 FTE) position offers a competitive salary range of $60,383 to $81,280 pro rata
