Job Overview
This permanent part-time position offers a unique opportunity to join our supportive Occupational Therapy team at Christchurch Hospital. As a Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients, while contributing to the development of our team's skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive Inter-disciplinary and specific occupational therapy based assessments, patient-centered goal setting, therapeutic interventions, and education to whānau and friends and IDT colleagues
* Collaborate with patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, working closely with whānau and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
* Identify and contribute towards quality improvement initiatives, delegating clinical tasks to Allied Health Assistants when necessary
* Participate in transfer and discharge planning, as well as mentoring and supervision of colleagues within the wider Occupational Therapy service
* Contribute to the weekend roster on a regular basis

About You
You will possess a passion for working in acute care within a team environment, with a desire to grow and develop professionally as an Occupational Therapy Specialist. Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Sound clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, developing positive interpersonal relationships and working flexibly within the inter-disciplinary team
* Strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-informed practice
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with experience in discharge planning
* Willingness to engage in quality improvement mahi
* Clinical experience working within the acute hospital environment would be an advantage
* Registration with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
