About Our Team
At Christchurch Hospital, we pride ourselves on being a supportive and collaborative team, dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. As a Healthcare Professional - Occupational Therapy, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with patients, whānau, and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive assessments, patient-centered goal setting, therapeutic interventions, and education to whānau and friends and IDT colleagues
* Collaborate with patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, working closely with whānau and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
* Identify and contribute towards quality improvement initiatives, delegating clinical tasks to Allied Health Assistants when necessary
* Participate in transfer and discharge planning, as well as mentoring and supervision of colleagues within the wider Occupational Therapy service
* Contribute to the weekend roster on a regular basis

About You
You will be passionate about working in acute care within a team environment, with a desire to grow and develop professionally as a Healthcare Professional - Occupational Therapy. Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Sound clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, developing positive interpersonal relationships and working flexibly within the inter-disciplinary team
* Strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-informed practice
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with experience in discharge planning
* Willingness to engage in quality improvement mahi
* Clinical experience working within the acute hospital environment would be an advantage
* Registration with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
