Job OverviewThis role reports into the Head of Employee Relations and can be based from Auckland or Christchurch. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of employment-related strategies and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with ER and HR Advisory teams to manage legal risks and escalate employment-related issues.
- Represent the organisation in employment disputes, mediations, and Employment Relations Authority proceedings.
- Develop and maintain employment-related policies, guides, and documentation to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Cultivate strong relationships with union organisers and delegates to promote constructive engagement.
- 2-4 years post-qualification experience (PQE) as an employment lawyer with a current New Zealand practicing certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Excellent understanding of employment-related legislation and its application in operational environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice.
- Calm under pressure and adaptable, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
