About the Role:

New Zealand Parliament seeks a highly skilled Accommodation Project Manager to join our Future Accommodation (Special Projects Team) within the Corporate Services Group.

In this key position, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering projects aligned with the Future Accommodation Strategy (FAS), ensuring Parliament's accommodation needs are met over the next 30 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the development and execution of procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  2. Manage project budgets, including forecasting, variance reporting, and risk identification.
  3. Coordinate internal/external resources and consultants, ensuring timely and compliant documentation.
  4. Implement risk management plans and ensure quality assurance throughout projects.
  5. Manage contractor health and safety in compliance with HSWA, ensuring safe work practices.
  6. Maintain stakeholder communication, manage relationships, and share knowledge.
  7. Develop and maintain effective project management systems and processes.
  8. Collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with organisational objectives.
  9. Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

About You:

  • You will bring at least 2 years of relevant experience in a project-based role, with a strong understanding of project management frameworks.
  • You have proven experience managing complex building projects, including cost monitoring and deadline adherence.
  • You are a collaborative team player with adaptability and a shared team culture focus.
  • You possess strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and frameworks.
  • You have excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • You are familiar with relevant legislation and building contracts.
  • You can interpret plans/specifications and provide leadership to building professionals.
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills, capable of clear reporting.
  • You are proficient in project management tools/software and the Microsoft suite.
  • You are aware of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and the role of Parliament within this framework.
