Job RequirementsWe are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our residential support team as a Residential Youth Worker. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for our Deaf students.
Our residential program in Sumner, Christchurch, offers a unique opportunity to work with Deaf boarding students during school term time. The program focuses on independent living and life skills, catering to students aged 11-21 years. Work hours are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm.
You will be responsible for inspiring and supporting our students in their daily tasks and activities, promoting independence and life skills. Your positive energy and motivational spirit will be instrumental in driving our students' success.
Candidates should possess a strong passion for making a difference and share our commitment to empowering young people. While experience in youth work is beneficial, what matters most is your genuine desire to connect with and empower young people.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 2 years of experience in youth-focused work, demonstrating your ability to connect and empower young individuals.
- A valid full driver's license, ensuring prompt and efficient response to student needs.
- Proven experience working with youths with various needs, showcasing adaptability and commitment to inclusive care.
- Familiarity with NZ legislation, such as the Children's Act, is advantageous, reflecting dedication to upholding high standards in youth support.
