The Role
As a Senior Legal Counsel with at least eight years' broad post-qualification health law experience, you will provide high-quality, pragmatic in-house legal advice on health and privacy law to support clinical staff and leaders. You will also attend hearings and other forums, work with Police, assist with reviews and disputes, and provide training to staff on health and privacy matters.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on health and privacy law to support clinical staff and leaders
- Attend hearings and other forums to represent the organisation's interests
- Work closely with Police and other stakeholders to resolve issues
- Assist with reviews and disputes to ensure fair outcomes
- Develop and deliver training programs on health and privacy matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
You must have excellent communication skills, be able to take initiative, and possess outstanding relationship-building abilities. Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth are essential. Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings, would be highly regarded.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of NZD $170,000 - NZD $220,000 per annum, depending on experience.
