Auckland District Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Awhi Mātua, a community-based service for adults aged 65 years and over.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.

About Awhi Mātua:

Awhi Mātua is a community-based service that provides specialist assessment and treatment for older adults experiencing mental illness and/or cognitive change. Our team works collaboratively to optimise the function and wellness of older adults, with a focus on supporting them to continue living independently and meaningfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  2. To develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  3. To participate in education and training programs to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals

Requirements:

  • Degree in Medicine and completion of psychiatric training
  • Experience leading and managing a team of healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
