About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our marine conservation efforts in the Auckland region. As a Auckland Marine Reserve Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective conservation strategies, working closely with local communities, stakeholders, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement conservation plans for marine protected areas
  • Collaborate with local communities, stakeholders, and government agencies to achieve conservation goals
  • Monitor and report on conservation progress, identifying areas for improvement
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers on conservation practices
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local iwi, government agencies, and community groups

Requirements

  • Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., conservation biology, ecology, environmental science)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in conservation or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in te reo Māori an advantage
