**Role Overview**
We are seeking a senior research scientist to join our team at Environment Canterbury. In this role, you will lead research and advice on contaminated land and waste management matters, developing and maintaining fit-for-purpose work programmes and resources.
About Us
Our organisation focuses on delivering three core services to the Waitaha/Canterbury community: Environmental Regulation and Protection; Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards; and Public Transport. About the Role
This role will require you to lead research projects on contaminated land and waste management, developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues. You will also manage contracts and contractors fairly under the appropriate procurement guidelines.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a Master (preferred) or Bachelor of Science degree in a contaminated land field along with five years of professional experience in contaminated land and/or waste work with a Master's degree, or ten years of professional experience in contaminated land and/or waste work with a Bachelor's degree. You will also have the ability to lead, coach, and elevate team capability, design and lead research on contaminated land issues, and establish connections and collaboration with Nga Runanga.
