**Job Overview**

The University of Waikato's National Institute of Demographic and Economic Analysis (NIDEA) is seeking a Demography and Policy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to research excellence in demography, population economics, population health, and population geography.

NIDEA is the only social sciences research institute in a New Zealand university focused on these specific areas. Our researchers are well-known nationally and internationally for their expertise.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in a relevant social science discipline, such as demography, sociology, population health, or geography. You will also have teaching experience and a research profile commensurate with the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality research in demography and related fields
  • Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop research projects and proposals
  • Develop and maintain a strong research profile

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant social science discipline
  • Teaching experience and a research profile commensurate with the position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range: NZ$74,034 to $89,163 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience)
