About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Forensic Psychiatrist, you will provide expert psychiatric services to individuals across the midland region, covering courts, prisons, and general mental health services.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide high-quality clinical services, including assessments, treatments, and consultations, within a multi-disciplinary team framework.
- Develop and implement service plans, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, participate in peer review processes, and ensure timely communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and community groups to promote mental health and wellbeing.
Person Specification
- Postgraduate qualifications in Psychiatry or a related field.
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Psychiatrist.
- Proven experience in forensic psychiatry, with expertise in assessing and managing individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. A current New Zealand driver's license is required for this role.
