**Job Overview**

Te Puni Kokiri, the Ministry for Maori Development, is seeking three experienced and motivated individuals to join our Statutory Entities and Appointments team in Wellington.

We are looking for talented professionals who can support the Crown's relationship with Maori through effective governance, performance oversight, and secretariat services.

The successful candidates will have proven experience leading appointments or secretariat services or performance monitoring functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading appointments workstream for Te Puni Kokiri to ensure high-quality advice and appointments process-support to assist the Minister for Maori Development.
  • Engaging positively and supportively with high-calibre individuals being considered for appointments across various entities and boards within the portfolio.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the public sector to deliver Te Puni Kokiri's role as a nominating agency.
  • Providing professional secretariat support to advisory groups and governance bodies.
  • Maintaining relationships with entity management and providing analysis and reporting on entity performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading appointments or secretariat services or performance monitoring functions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Clear understanding of statutory bodies and other public roles appointments.
  • Experience providing advice to ministers and executive leadership.
  • Understanding of Te Ao Maori, tikanga, and the Crown's obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment while managing competing priorities.
