The Opportunity
  • Lead the engagement of Māori individuals and whanau in accessing our services
  • Deliver cultural assessments using the Te Whare Tapa model of care, recommending appropriate interventions
  • Create a holistic learning environment that supports traditional Maori principles and values
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess the cultural needs of Māori patients and communicate those needs to the multidisciplinary team
  2. Initiate contact with family and arrange cultural interventions
Requirements
  • Fluency in Te Reo Maori and Tikanga
  • Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its significance
  • Knowledge of Māori health models and experience working with tangata whai ora
