About Te Awakura

Te Awakura is a 64-bed adult acute inpatient unit that provides 24-hour care for consumers with mental illness. Our model of care focuses on integrated multidisciplinary teams, providing excellent care for consumers in the least restrictive manner. The unit consists of four open 16 bed acute inpatient wards (North, East, South and West).

About the Role

We are seeking a registered nurse to join our close-knit team at East Inpatients Service. This rewarding opportunity supports the acute mental health service and offers a chance to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope. Previous mental health scope and experience is preferred, but not essential. We welcome nurses with mental health scope who do not have previous mental health experience. Your excellent communication and time management skills, along with your confidence and resilience, will enable you to build strong relationships with our consumers, family and whanau.
